Jeff Van Horn: Jeff has a BA in Psychology and a JD from the University of Texas at Austin. He worked in private practice for four years prior to becoming Assistant District Attorney for Caldwell and Comal Counties in January, 1977. He served in that capacity until September, 1981, when the office of Criminal District Attorney of Caldwell County was created. He served as Criminal District Attorney through the end of 1990. While he was employed in Caldwell County, Assistant D.A. Tom Krampitz would often refer to Jeff as an "appellate queer." In June of 2007, Jeff was appointed the State's Prosecuting Attorney. In addition, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Texas District & County Attorney's Association and is the author of the Charging Manual published by that association.
